Start with written rules
Before collecting entries, state who may participate, when entries close, how many entries each person may receive, what the prize is, how the winner will be contacted, and what happens if the winner does not respond. Do not invent or change these rules after seeing the list.
Keep entry and eligibility separate
Remove entries that do not meet the published rules before loading the wheel. Use a stable identifier when two participants share a name, but avoid exposing unnecessary personal information on a public screen. Each valid list row is one chance, so duplicates should exist only when the rules explicitly allow multiple entries.
Freeze and review the final list
Record the total number of eligible entries and review obvious duplicates or formatting mistakes. If participants need to inspect the list, provide enough time to correct an error before the drawing begins. Once the draw starts, do not add or remove an entry unless the published rules explain that process.
State the drawing behavior
Explain whether the drawing selects one winner, several winners without replacement, or alternates. For multiple unique winners, enable winner removal so a selected entry is excluded from the next spin. If repeat wins are allowed, say so clearly.
Preserve an appropriate record
A small informal giveaway may only need a timestamp, the final eligible count, and the displayed result. Larger promotions may require screenshots, a recording, witnesses, exported entry records, or an independent drawing service. Know when not to use a simple wheel
Do not use this tool for paid entry, wagering, lotteries, regulated promotions, high-value prizes, or any drawing that legally requires registration, bonding, independent supervision, or certified randomness. Obtain advice appropriate to the jurisdiction and promotion before accepting entries.

- Publish eligibility, entry, prize, timing, and redraw rules.
- Close entries and validate the final list.

- Explain repeat-winner behavior before spinning.
